Farmers in tractors with cows in tow are protesting in the city

Farmers in tractors with cows in tow have converged on the CBD to protest milk prices at Federation Square.

Members of Farmer Power then marched to Spring Street, calling for a 50 per cent levy on every litre of milk.

Among the protesters, Chloe Scott, a teenager who started an online petition which has gathered about 160,000 signatures.

She told Neil Mitchell the $600 million package announced by the federal government for struggling dairy farmers shows the message is getting through.
