Fashionable Footsteps: Using Chadstone shopping centre for fitness

Who said fashion and fitness can’t mix?

An increasing number of elderly people are joining local walking groups who are trading the outdoors for the comfort of shopping malls.

One of the earliest shopping centre walkers, Betty Stack, started pacing through Chadstone shopping centre when her gym closed 12 years ago.

She told 3AW Breakfast her group, Fashionable Footsteps, hosted up to 40 walkers.
