Fatal house fire in Melbourne’s west

A man has died in a house fire at Maidstone.

Flames were spotted coming from the Baird Street property at about 3.15am.

Fire crews managed to control the blaze, however an unresponsive man was pulled from the house.

The man died at the scene.

A crime scene has been established and an arson chemist and fire investigators have been called in.
