Father of young man bashed at St Kilda foreshore unhappy with Victoria Police response
The father of a young man bashed at the St Kilda foreshore on Saturday night has told Neil Mitchell, he is extremely unhappy with how the police responded to the incident.
One person has been charged after the fracas for assaulting police, making threats to kill, possessing drugs and breaching bail, while another was interviewed and released pending summons over a prohibited weapon.
“I got emails from two of the parents of the young men involved, both unhappy with the police response,” Neil said.
George Loucas told Neil his 24-year-old son was also bashed and robbed, along with two friends, but no one has been arrested.
“They all got bashed, one was able to run and flag down the nearest police car and bang on the bonnet and say, please help us,” George said.
“They said we’ve got somewhere else to be.
“He copped a broken nose, his left eye has swollen over like a boxer, he can’t see out of it.
“He was out cold and they took his phone, his wallet and his shoes.
“My son was lying on the ground for almost an hour before the police came.”
