Fears 200,000 workers will take a bogus ‘sickie’ after Australia Day

Businesses are bracing for a wave of sick days on Friday.

With the Australia Day public holiday falling on Thursday, bosses fear as many as 200,000 workers will take the following day off to get a four-day weekend.

It’s feared it could cost businesses more than $62 million.
