Fears ‘hundreds’ will lose jobs if Airport Rail Link project is shelved as predicted
WORD ON THE STREET: “At least” 350 people are set to lose their job after the Victorian government flagged it would put the Airport Rail Link project on hold due to budget concerns.
3AW Drive received an off-tip from Peter on Friday, which prompted a response from the Department of Transport and Planning.
The government said the decision to “allocate” staff to different projects had been made by a private contractor, and no direction had come from government.
