There are fears “vaccine fatigue” may stop many Australians from getting their flu shot, leading to a surge in cases this winter.

Robert Booy, infectious diseases pediatrician at Sydney University, said it was important for people to keep the vaccinations up-to-date.

He said it was “recommended” for many people to get their flu shot while getting their latest COVID-19 booster.

“There was a study published last week that suggests next year we’ll be able to have a combination in one syringe,” he said.
