There are concerns Victorians are starting to take matters into their own hands and are taking up vigilantism due to an increase in crime

Security consultant and retired Detective Senior Sergeant from the Homicide Squad, Charlie Bezzina, says Victorians are fed up with a lack of support from police.

“I know a number of people, some have been home raided by these individuals and they’re arming themselves,” he told Tony Jones, filling in for Tom Elliott.

He also says Victorians should be careful when defending themselves.

“You’re entitled to defend yourself and anyone else in your family, but it’s got to be proportionate,” he said.
