Flight Centre’s CEO has accused the federal government of rejecting Qatar Airways’ application for an extra 21 flights – keeping airfares high.

Graham Turner says there’s been no reason given for why the application was rejected.

“I’m wondering as much as anyone why this was knocked back for no reason … Qatar is a very good airline and they fly to Australia to some extent now, but another 21 flights would make a significant difference to airfares from what we see,” he told Ross and Russel.
