Federal infrastructure minister defends North East Link funding news
The federal government’s total funding contribution towards the North East link will jump to $5 billion as the project continues to see budget blow outs.
Federal infrastructure and transport minister, Catherine King, defended the decision, saying Victoria has received less federal funding than other states and territories.
“It came as a surprise to me, to be honest, when I came as infrastructure minister, just how little the Commonwealth was in fact putting in to these really big builds in Victoria,” she told Jacqui Felgate.
