‘Feels like hypocrisy’: Expert on Labor rental advocate’s property empire

Melbourne Labor MP Sarah Witty, who has presented herself as a renter’s champion, was revealed to have several rental properties on Friday. 

Professor of politics, political journalist and commentator, Peter Van Onselen, said it’s “hypocrisy” on Ms Witty’s part.

“If she’s renting them out, getting the tax deductions and charging market rent, when she says that’s a problem in the current community… Well, that feels like hypocrisy to me,” he said on 3AW Mornings.
