Fight for life: Swimmers caught in Phillip Island rip

A man and a woman – both aged in their 20s – are fighting for their lives in hospital after being pulled from the surf off Phillip Island last night.

They were among seven people rescued by surfers and surf lifesavers at Cape Woolamai.

Another man, also aged in his 20s, was flown to hospital in a serious condition.

Two others are in hospital at Wonthaggi.
