The leader of the Reason Party says it is hypocritical for a handful of Liberal Party politicians to follow soft porn accounts on social media, given their opposition to the decriminalisation of sex workers.

Shadow ministers David Davis and James Newbury were among those named by the Herald Sun in a “sleaze file” report about politicians following racy social media accounts.

Speaking with Neil Mitchell, Fiona Patten said she had no issue with the contents of the accounts, or that the politicians had followed them, but it was hypocritical.

“All of those MPs listed in that article voted, and spoke, vehemently against the decriminalisation of sex work,” she said on 3AW.

“Yet they all seem to be quite happy to follow the work of sex workers, while fighting against them having equal rights and equal employment rights.”
