Fire crews battle truck fire near Burnley Tunnel, car fire on the Ring Road

Fire crews have battled two separate vehicle fires in Melbourne.

A truck caught fire about a kilometre on the Monash Freeway outbound outside the Burnley Tunnel.

The driver managed to escape before the blaze got to the cabin.

All lanes are open outbound and the entry ramp at Yarra Boulevard has since reopened.

CityLink advises there are heavy delays to West Gate Freeway and Dynon Road on CityLink. 

A caller to 3AW Breakfast, Peter, said fire crews are also at the scene of a car fire on the Western Ring Road at Fawkner.

Traffic is heavy in the area.
