Fire guts Sunshine home

A family of three has been forced to flee their burning home in Sunshine.

The man, woman and child heard crackling as the Moira Street home filled with smoke at about 4.30am.

It took about half an hour to bring under control and most of the house has been gutted, with the cause of the fire still under investigation.

MFB Commander Craig Williams says the occupants are unharmed but clearly shaken just days out from Christmas.

‘They are obviously quite shaken,’ he said.
