RED HOT TIP

Fire Rescue Victoria has been hit with a system outage, which may be the result of a cyber attack.

Sarah called 3AW Mornings to report the concerning issue.

“Word is they’ve been hacked, so no paging, all the systems are down,” she told Tony Jones, filling in for Neil Mitchell.

An anonymous source inside FRV has confirmed there is a problem with the emergency service’s systems.

The FRV website is also down.

FRV says it’s experiencing “technical issues” but crews and fire trucks are continuing to be deployed and community safety has not been compromised.

The Premier has addressed the issue at a news conference this morning, assuring Victorians it has not had a meaningful impact on FRV responses and that the cyber issue is isolated to that emergency service.

More to come…
