Firefighter dispute flares up again on 3AW Mornings

A war of words has erupted on 3AW over the latest deal between the MFB and United Firefighters Union.

It follows the resignation of MFB president Andi Diamond.

The state opposition says the deal has been “bullied” through to appease the union.

“You can’t push through a bad deal just to get a deal done for the union,” Opposition Emergency Services spokesperson Brad Battin told 3AW Mornings.

“Daniel Andrews is morally corrupt.”

That led to Peter Marshall ringing in.

“It’s just rubbish,” he said in response.

“It’s ill-informed, alarmist, political dribble.”
