Fitzroy fire: Body found in Brunswick Street job
A body has been found after fire investigators searched the burnt-out remains of a Brunswick Street shop in Fitzroy.
The arson and explosives squad have taken over the investigation, with the cause of the blaze not yet known.
MFB Commander Phil Rogan says the fire started about 430am, with neighbours alerting emergency services.
‘Quite a few calls were coming in and the first crews found quite a substantial fire at the rear of the shop,’ he said.
‘Seven fire trucks and 25 firefighters were needed, blocking a large section of Brunswick Street from Alexandra Parade.’
