Flood of fake $100 notes hits Melbourne
A flood of fake $100 notes has hit Melbourne.
The counterfeit notes have been found circulating through restaurants, pubs, clubs and shops.
Steve Worthington, adjunct professor of marketing and financial services at Swinburne University, told Ross and John they were difficult to spot.
‘They look and feel the same as the real $100,’ he said on 3AW Breakfast.
But he said the fakes had one distinct feature.
‘They all have the same serial number,’ Mr Worthington explained.
That number is AI 13933231.
