Flood victims booted from Mickleham quarantine hub
Flood victims who have been staying at the quarantine facility in Mickleham have been given a month’s notice to vacate.
The facility was established as a temporary emergency accommodation base on October 18 last year.
Currently, 44 people remain onsite.
Some residents are now being moved into hotels and caravan parks so staff can prepare for the facility to cease operating as emergency accommodation.
The facility will come under federal government management from the end of March. It’s not yet known how it’ll be utilised.
