Flu vaccine supplies exhausted
It could be well into the depths of winter before Victorians know when they can get a flu shot.
Supplies across the state are exhausted, leaving just enough shots for children, the sick and the elderly.
Chief Health Officer Professor Charles Guest says for everyone else, its a case of either waiting until supplies are available or getting on the phone and hunting around.
“The Australian and Victorian State Governments are working together to attempt to source some extra vaccines from overseas,” he said.
“That’s why we are at present we are promoting that people in high risk get the vaccine and others wait.”
