Footscray restaurant owner Jim Wong has died

Restaurant owner and western suburbs institution Jimmy Wong passed away on Thursday.

The 75-year-old owned the iconic Jim Wong Restaurant in Footscray and was famed for his pork dim sims, which 3AW listeners once voted the best dim sims anywhere in Victoria. 

Tony Leonard joined Ross and John to discuss what Jimmy meant to the football community, and to Melbourne. 

‘There haven’t been too many Footscray footballers who haven’t punched into a free dim sim from the beautiful Jimmy Wong’s establishment,’  he said. 

Mr Wong is survived by his wife and children.
