‘Incredibly sad’: Teammate reacts as Ben Cousins faces jail again
Fallen AFL start Ben Cousins faces more time behind bars.
The former AFL star was charged after he was allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine and breaching a violence restraining order.
Police say the West Coast Eagles premiership player was arrested at a Canning Vale home on Tuesday night.
He faced court today accused of possessing three grams of methylamphetamine.
He was charged with possessing a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply, making threats to injure, endanger or harm a person and two counts of breaching a violence restraining order.
Cousins made an emotional plea to be let out on bail, but that was refused.
He was released from prison in January.
“It’s just incredibly sad,” former Richmond teammate Matthew Richardson said on Sportsday.
“It’s just horrible.”
