Former Australian cricket coach says Justin Langer ‘did everything asked of him’

Former Australian cricket coach John Buchanan says he’s not sure what else Justin Langer could have done to keep his job.

Langer walked away from the coaching role on Saturday after it became clear he no longer had the full support of the playing group and support staff.

“In all due respect, he’s done everything that’s been asked of him,” Buchanan told 3AW.

“I would have thought that would carry some weight, but obviously it did not.”

He also explained why he was “disappointed” with Pat Cummins and a few other senior players as early as six months ago.
