Former Australian cricketer applauds Mitchell Starc’s ‘unbelievable’ Ashes display

Former cricketer Michael Beer has applauded Mitchell Starc’s “unbelievable” bowling display on day one of the Ashes series in Perth.

Starc took an impressive seven wickets for 58 runs in the first innings, and was the 24th occasion he’d taken a wicket in the first over of an innings in a Test match.

“This is one where the country needed him,” Beer told Jimmy Bartel on Wide World of Sports.
