Former CFA Chief Fire Officer says he’s ‘absolutely gutted’ over his resignation
The CFA’s Chief Fire Officer handed in his resignation on Thursday.
Tom Elliott spoke with Joe Buffone who says he’s ‘absolutely gutted’.
‘I submitted my resignation because I got to the position where it was untenable for me to continue in my role.’
‘This is not about money, Tom.’ – says Joe.
‘This is about being able to discharge my legislative role and be able to look after everybody.’
Tom asked Joe if he had a message for Daniel Andrews or James Merlino.
‘I don’t want to comment on that right now… I’m focussed on doing the right thing.’ – He said on 3AW Drive.
Tom Elliott spoke with Deputy Premier, James Merlino later on the program.
Merlino says he is ‘disappointed’ in Joe’s resignation.
