Former chair of ACCC explains Telstra’s ‘misleading’ claims

Former chair of the ACCC Allan Fels says it “looks like” Telstra is guilty of overstating the extent of their coverage. 

Vodafone has referred to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission that competitor Telstra has been falsely claiming their network is larger than it is for average customers, hence misleading Australians for over 15 years. 

Mr Fels spoke to Tom Elliot on 3AW Mornings about the investigation into Telstra.

Mr Fels said the specific claim of their advertisement is likely to breach misleading and deceptive conduct under the Australian consumer law.
