One man believes he has the solution on how to reduce Australia’s cane toad population, ‘if you can’t beat them, eat them!’

Speaking on 3AW Mornings, former chef and now tour guide in Arnhem Land, David McMahon, said many would be surprised at how a cane toad tastes.

‘There are poison glands all over the body, once you take the legs off and peel the skin back; you’ve got big chunks of meat, good to eat!’

David cooks beer-battered toad legs, crumbed-parmesan toad, and the dish of the day, teriyaki territory toad.

‘If you can come around to it, it’s not bad eating, not bad at all’.

It has been estimated there are 2 billon cane toads in Australia.
