A former governor says it’s time to for violent anti-Jewish protest to be met with the full force of the law.

Linda Dessau, who was Victoria’s first Jewish governor, told the Neil Mitchell Asks Why podcast she has no objection to peaceful, legitimate demonstrations, but what has occurred in recent weeks is beyond the pale.

“We call it for what it is — totally unacceptable — and we call out the hate speech and we prosecute people. We make it clear that we won’t accept it. That’s very different from saying ‘We don’t agree with what Israel is doing in Gaza’,” she said.
