Former NFL punter can’t hide excitement following historic Melbourne announcement

Saverio Rocca says he’s already fielding plenty of ticket requests following the historic announcement that Melbourne will host a regular-season NFL game for the first time in 2026.

Rocca, who is a former NFL punter and AFL player, told Tony Moclair he expected the match – which will feature the LA Rams – to be unlike anything ever staged at the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground.

“It’ll be a sellout and a sellout very quickly,” he said on 3AW Afternoons.

“I’ve been hit up who have never seen a game and told me they want to come and watch (the Melbourne game). You’ll be able to sell 50,000 tickets to people who just want to tailgate out the front.”
