Former Perth school boy found guilty of triple murder in South Africa
A South African court has found a former Perth school boy guilty of murdering his parents and brother.
Henri Van Breda was also found guilty of attempting to murder his sister during the frenzied axe attack, at their family home in Cape Town.
During the trial the 23-year-old repeatedly claimed he was innocent, saying an armed intruder is to blame.
Van Breda’s parents Martin and Teresa and his brother Rudi were found dead at the family’s mansion on January 27, 2015.
His sister Marli, who was aged just 16 at the time, suffered severe injuries and did not give evidence.
Van Breda, who handed himself over to police in September 2016, had pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
He was denied bail and will be held in custody until his sentencing.
