Former Premier Jeff Kennett’s ‘greatest fear’ surrounding Victoria’s growing debt

Jeff Kennett has weighed in on the state’s growing debt, following revelations Victoria is becoming increasingly reliant on overseas asset managers.

Speaking on 3AW Mornings, Jeff Kennett said “there’s only two reasons that people lend money”.

“We have no idea who holds those debts, and to your point, most people who lend money are totally responsible, whether they’re Australian banks or overseas institutions, but we do need to know, we have a right to know,” Kennett continued.
