Former Premier named in Airport Rail Link corruption allegations

Evidence was provided to the Big Build royal commission allegedly showing proof of foul play within the Airport Rail Link project.

The Age chief state political reporter Chip Le Grand told 3AW Breakfast hosts Ross Stevenson and Russel Howcroft that a secret group was tasked with fudging financial forecasts to favour the route through Sunshine.

“It’s an extra length of tunnel that’s not actually required for the project … you go from something costing $16.5 billion to more than $20 billion,” he said.
