Former premier weighs in on potential Daniel Andrews statue
Former premier Jeff Kennett has joined the majority of Victorians calling on Ben Carroll to bin a taxpayer-funded statue of Daniel Andrews.
Kennett told 3AW Mornings host Tom Elliott the line of statues of former premiers in Treasury Place were well respected for their contributions to Victoria.
Press PLAY to hear why Kennett thinks Ben Carroll has “been caught on his own petard” regarding the statue
“You may disagree with their policies, but most of them are respected for their length of service and what they did for Victoria, you can’t say that of Daniel Andrews,” he said.
A poll on Friday found 74 per cent of Victorians do not want a publicly funded statue of Daniel Andrews.
