A former principal has spoken of his concern about rising violence in schools. 

It follows news reports of students bringing weapons like knives and knuckle dusters to school.

Adam Voigt has been a school principal in some of Australia’s most challenging locations, and he told Ross and John we need to keep our eyes open.

‘While it’s not something that’s widespread, we would be foolish to turn our back on it,’ Mr Voigt said on Thursday.

‘We’ve got increasing issues with aggression in the classroom, from students towards teachers.’

And parents could stand to lighten up too.
