Adelaide has confirmed gun defender Jake Lever won’t play in Friday night’s blockbuster against Geelong.

But it’s opened the door for a great footy story.

Former Victorian cricketer Alex Keath will make his much-anticipated debut for the Crows against the Cats.

Keath, 25, made the switch back to football at the end of 2015, when the Crows signed him as a Category B rookie.

Josh Jenkins and Rory Sloane are still no certainties to play, with an injury cloud also still over Brownlow favourite Patrick Dangerfield for the Cats.
