John Worsfold has hit back at Kevin Bartlett after he said a ‘black line’ should be put through West Coast’s 2006 premiership.

It comes after an explosive report detailing the club’s drug problems was made public.

Richmond great Bartlett said an asterisk should be put against the Eagles’ success.

But Essendon coach Worsfold, who led the Eagles to that flag, hit back on 3AW.

‘I think he’s just making an emotional comment on part of the information that he’s elected to believe,’ Worsfold said.

‘He doesn’t know the full story, not by a long shot.

‘If he was there and part of it and understood everything, I think he’d have a different opinion.’

Worsfold defended his tenure with the Eagles, saying there was only so much he could do at the time.

‘I’m sure at any workplace in the country if you quizzed your staff on a question on whether they’ve ever used illicit drugs, I know the answer you’re probably going to get,’ he said.

‘Then it’s up to every individual as to how much faith they put in that.’
