Founder of ASX-listed Guzman y Gomez tells Tom Elliott why he should care more about Mexican food

Mexican fast-food chain Guzman y Gomez has made its debut on the Australian Stock Exchange, making a big impression on its ASX debut.

It promoted Tom Elliott to ask the question why the outlet was so popular with Australians.

Guzman y Gomez Co-CEO Steven Marks said on 3AW his stores were filling a void in the market he identified two decades ago.

“When I moved here 20 years ago there was no good Mexican food,” he told 3AW Mornings.

“It’s an alternative to tradiitonal fast food and people are loving it.”
