Franklin and A’Beckett streets to be closed for five years as work begins on Melbourne Metro Rail

Melburnians are being urged to have patience, as roads start to close for the construction of the Melbourne Metro Rail tunnel.

Parts of Franklin and A’Beckett streets closed this morning.

They’re expected to be closed for up to five years.

The Melbourne Metro Rail Authority said an 11-storey deep hole would be dug at the location.
