Fred Goldsmith, the oldest surviving Brownlow medallist, dies aged 84
The oldest living Brownlow medallist has died.
Fred Goldsmith, who won football’s highest individual honour in 1955, passed away on Thursday morning.
He was 84.
Goldsmith was recruited by South Melbourne from Spotswood and played 119 games.
He was named in the Swans’ Team Of The Century in 2003.
