A leading advocate for cab drivers has declared taxis have officially lost the battle against Uber in Victoria, after reports by 60 minutes and The Age this week uncovered widespread rorting by cabbies across the state.

Co-founder of the Transport Matters Party and former taxi driver, Rod Barton, told Tom Elliott it’s a “free-for-all nowadays”.

“The industry now is worse than it was in 2018 when we deregulated,” Mr Barton said on 3AW Mornings.
