French backpacker assaulted at King Street hostel

Police are hunting a man who assaulted a French backpacker in the city.

The 28-year-old woman suffered a broken nose and arm after she was attacked in a hostel in King Street on August 28.

She has told police she was followed into a bathroom by a man who punched her face and kicked her several times.

Detectives believe the offender was a past guest at the hostel but was not known to the victim.

Investigators have today released a FACE images of a man they wish to speak to in the hope someone will recognise him.
