A moving video of a French father and his young son discussing the terror attacks in Paris has gone viral.

In the video, the boy tells a reporter he had to ‘change houses’ because of ‘mean people with guns’.

But, in a comforting gesture, his father explains why he need not be afraid.

Leading child psychologist Dr Michael Carr-Gregg said the father had handled the situation brilliantly.

‘Young children are going to be really responsive to any response they are given, so long as they trust the person giving it to them,’ he explained on 3AW Mornings.

‘That’s a perfect example of how very young children will be fine and let it go, because that’s exactly what he did.’
