Fresh investigation into Janita McNaughton’s death

Cold case detectives have reopened the investigation into the mysterious death of Janita McNaughton, who was fatally shot 32 years ago on a boat in Western Port Bay.

Sly of the Underworld explained on 3AW Breakfast the various theories surrounding her death.

The young woman had ‘fallen in with the wrong crowd’ and was overcoming a drug addiction at the time.

Ms McNaughton’s elderly mother was desperate for justice and answers, but tragically she died two weeks ago.

‘It’s certainly one of the things that kept her alive over the last six months,’ Ms McNaughton’s brother Robert said.
