Passengers waiting for their Qantas flight from Melbourne to Los Angeles to take-off have recounted their grueling six hours of waiting before being told their flight was cancelled at 3am.

One passenger, Pip, says the flight had already been delayed when they finally boarded the flight.

“We got on and there was a whole lot of the usual delay announcements … two hours in, [the staff said] ‘Oh we’re frustrated, we’re still doing paperwork,'” she told Jacqui Felgate.

Another passenger, Caitley, says she travelled five hours interstate from regional NSW to make the flight.

“At first we were all okay … but by the end of it, everyone was very frustrated. We just wanted to get off, there was no water, we weren’t even offered any food, we weren’t allowed to get out of our seats,” she said.
