Australia’s EpiPen shortage is yet to be resolved, news that’s “frustrated” the Victorian president of the Pharmacy Guild.

3AW Breakfast was alerted to the issue by caller Geoff.

He said his 20-month-old grandchild recently had an allergic reaction.

While the young boy was quickly taken to hospital for treatment, the family was distressed to discover the two EpiPens they had at home had expired.

In fact, they’d expired before they’d even been purchased.

Geoff’s daughter went to five chemists to find a new one and finally found one, however, it expires soon.

Anthony Tassone, Victorian president of the Pharmacy Guild, said her problem was not uncommon.

“It’s really frustrating,” Mr Tassone said.
