Fury after doctors are told not to use the word ‘obese’ with patients
An obesity expert has slammed a NSW Health policy directive that tells doctors not to use the word “obesity” with fat patients.
Professor John Dixon from the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute told 3AW Drive obesity was a serious health issue in Australian and it needed to be tackled head-on.
“We need to call it out and treat it,” he said.
“We’re not doing that.”
