Gale seeks Bomber’s advice

A meeting between Richmond CEO Brendon Gale and Mark ‘Bomber’ Thompson was nothing more than the Tigers seeking some advice from the former Geelong and Essendon coach, according to Michael Warner.

‘It wasn’t for Bomber to go and coach Richmond, if that’s what you’re thinking,’ Warner told Sports Today.

The pair were seen having a coffee today, but given Thompson’s media commitments along with Peggy O’Neal’s strong backing for Damien Hardwick it would seem unlikely that Gale approached him to join the Tigers in any coaching role at the club.

Instead the Tigers may be looking for advice from Thompson, who went through a similar review at Geelong in 2006 that Richmond is currently undertaking.
