A possible concussion gamechanger is being developed right here in Melbourne.

The technology would be a finger-prick blood test and could work out in 15 minutes whether or not somebody was concussed.

“That is the aim,” Professor Dev Mitra, director of Emergency Medicine Research at The Alfred, told Neil Mitchell.

And while sport is the place most people’s mind will go to when thinking about its use, Professor Mitra said it was actually the defence force that was driving the program.
