GAME DAY: Collingwood v St Kilda at Etihad Stadium | 3AW Radio
Conspicuously, Collingwood captain Scott Pendlebury spent 14 minutes on the bench in the third term when the Saints broke the game open.
However, the Magpies told 3AW boundary rider Mick Warner he is not injured.
Cameron Ling said it’s ‘ridiculous’ if that’s true.
‘You’ve got to have your captain and superstar on the ground – unless he is injured,’ Lingy said.
Ling said it’s either the coach’s fault, or it’s a case of ‘sports science gone mad.’

FULL TIME
St Kilda has seen off the Magpies, running out 14-point winners.
Seb Ross was prolific in midfield for the Saints, while Dylan Roberton and Jack Newnes were involved in everything on half back.
3AW analyst Matthew Richardson said Collingwood lacked firepower where it mattered.
‘The biggest problem they’ve got is inside 50,’ Richo said.
‘They just didn’t look like they had anyone capable of grabbing the game and taking it by the scruff of the neck.’

HALF TIME
St Kilda leads by six points after a scrappy half.
Both sides have had their chances, but shooting for goal has been wayward.
Cameron Ling said the half-time statistics can be deceiving.
‘There’d be a lot of players sitting at half time fairly happy with the way they’re going, given they may have had 15-18 possessions,’ Lingy said.
‘But really, (they’ve had) no impact on the game.’

Collingwood has made one late change ahead of today’s match.
Tom Phillips (illness) has withdrawn, with Jarryd Blair coming in.
St Kilda is unchanged.

Collingwood released the pressure valve somewhat with a thrilling win over Sydney in Round 3.
But the Pies are under no illusions – it means nothing if they don’t back it up on a weekly basis.
The Saints have managed just one win so far, but they’ve been more than competitive against strong opposition.
Indeed, no team has spent more time in the lead in 2017 than the Saints.
Both sides know that playing well is only part of the story – it’s only the wins column that matters. Who will come away with the all-important W today?
